Firefighters were called out to tackle numerous fires across the area last night.


Arsonists torched a van at 4.02am this morning. Firefighters were called to the incident in Beech Crescent Eckington and spent around 40 minutes extinguishing the blaze. The make and model of the vehicle could not be determined as it was too badly damaged.

Crews from Rivelin attended two fires in Foxhill Crescent at 11pm last night. A hedge fire and wasteland fire were underway when crews arrived. Police were also on the scene. The incident comes after two cars were torched on the same street on Friday night.

An unattended bonfire spread to a private snooker room of a property at the junction of Bellhouse Road and Concord Road in Shiregreen at 9.15pm last night. Firefighters managed to contain the blaze and left at 10.15pm.


Firefighters were called to an incident in Greyfriars Place,Mickleover at 1.33am this morning. The fire was out on arrival, no one was injured in the blaze. Police and ambulance crews were in attendance. Firefighters left at 2.24am. An investigation is underway.

Firefighters attended a chimney fire in Bessie Lane, Bradwell at 11.08pm last night. The fire was out on arrival. Crews used thermal image camera’s and cleared debris and twigs from the chimney hatch.

Firefighters from Ilkeston attended a recycling bin fire at 9.54pm last night in Beauvale Drive, Ilkeston and used a hose reel to extinguish the blaze.

Firefighters were called to a Kitchen fire in Manor Court Heanor at 4.58pm yesterday. The blaze was out on arrival.

A skip fire took place at Sinfin Shopping Centre, Sinfin at 3.58pm yesterday. Firefighters used two hose reels to extinguish the blaze and left the scene at 4.48pm

Crews attended a derelict building fire in Back Lane, Chellaston at 3.39pm yesterday, Crews left the scene at 4.16pm.

Firefighters attended a traffic collision in Wood Road Chellaston at 3.12pm yesterday, A car and a motorbike were involved in the smash. Ambulance crews and police also attended. Firefighters left the scene 4.03pm

Firefighters from Glossop attended an incident involving a cyclist that had been in a collision. in Glossop Road, Gamesley at 2.41pm yesterday. Police and ambulance crews were also on the scene.
