Recognition has been given to the ongoing hard work and success at Darnall’s High Hazels Academy.
The quality mark, which is awarded by the Alliance for Lifelong Learning, recognises the quality of the school’s literacy and numeracy teaching and the improved attainment of pupils.
It is the fifth time the school has won the award demonstrating the continued improvement underway. the school had to meet ten elements including:Developing an effective whole school strategy aimed at improving pupils’ performance in basic skills; Having a commitment to improving the skills of staff to teach and extend basic skills; Involving parents and carers in developing their children’s literacy and numeracy skills.
Executive Head Teacher Lesley Dolben, said: “The award is proof of the high standards we have set ourselves and how we are working successfully to ensure every single pupil develops excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
“IT is testament to the hard work of our staff who work tirelessly to drive standards and support every single pupil to achieve their very best.”
