School draws up plans for new children’s games area

A children’s play area could soon be built at a Doncaster primary school.

Scawsby Saltersgate Junior School, at Barnsley Road, Scawsby, has submitted a planning application for permission to install a multi-use games area on school premises.

The plans, which have been submitted to Doncaster Council, would see a 24 metres by 12m games area built.

It would be surrounded by a 2m-high fence, with two 1.2m-high gates.

The play area would also feature two steel mesh goals for games of football.

The scheme is now with Doncaster Council planning officers.

A decision on whether the scheme can have planning permission is expected to be made by the middle of February.
