A Doncaster park is set to make a splash again thanks to improvements to its lake.
About £70,000 has been spent on maintenance work after volunteer group Friends of Sandall Park received a £50,000 grant as well as £20,000 of Doncaster Council cash to carry out the work.
Wheatley Ward councillor Moira Hood said: “We are very pleased with the work, it is money well spent.”
The scheme has enhanced the lake edging, helping to improve its appearance and creating an access point to clear any accumulation of debris and waste.
Coun Joe Blackham Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, Enforcement and Trading Services, said: “This is an excellent example of local people working with the council to improve their neighbourhoods.”
A celebration event was held by FoSP to share information on the history of the popular park.
