Ryan Peacey and Joe Lowcock each scored twice as Doncaster Phoenix won 52-29 at Driffield in North One East.

Phoenix fell 17-0 behind before rallying after the break to maintain their 100 per cent winning start to the season.

Scrum-half Joe Watts scored a second half try as did Fran Hafija, flanker Chris Planchant and winger Josh Fowler, while stand-off Jamie Lennard and Dan Porter shared the kicking duties for Phoenix, who sit third with a game in hand.

Wheatley Hills went down 26-7 away at Northern in a game littered with mistakes.

A Sam Kelly try converted by Owen Gilvray was all Wheatley had to show for their efforts as poor handling and missed tackles cost them dearly.

Thornensians moved up to second place in Yorkshire Three after a 27-24 home win over neighbours and long-standing rivals Goole.

Goole salvaged two bonus points but it was not enough to stop Thorne moving ahead of them, just one league point behind leaders Wetherby.

Goole took an early lead with an unconverted try. Thorne opened their account five minutes later when Stuart Hughes raced over and Rob Brown converted.

Ryan Pilley was next to touch down and a second try from Hughes on 38 minutes put Thorne 17-5 ahead at the break.

Brown added a penalty goal eight minutes into the second half and then landed the conversion when Pilley crashed over for his second try.

Goole fought their way back into contention with two tries in the last five minutes, one converted.

Wath on Dearne were narrow 26-22 winners at home to Ripon in Yorkshire Two thanks to a hat trick from No 8 Matt Burrows.

Joe Bartlett also notched a try with some fine kicking from stand-off Anthony Barrett making the difference.

In Yorkshire Five, Rossington Hornets went down 15-12 at Knaresborough.
