A puppy that went missing after a serious motorway crash has been reunited with his owner.
Derek disappeared after his owner’s vehicle was involved in a collision on the M18 last week.
He was one of two dogs inside a green Range Rover that left the road on the M18 northbound carriageway between junctions one and two on Thursday, April 23.
The other dog died at the scene but Derek ran off following the incident.
But he is now back home after a public appeal from South Yorkshire Police was shared by thousands of people on social media.
After seeing the appeal on Facebook, which was shared over 4,000 times, Derek was found by a member of the public and returned home for a much-needed cuddle.
Derek’s owner Dave Raper said: “The lady who found him took the pic, she’s got a puppy crush on him!
“Derek is also an honorary member of the vehicle recovery staff. Thanks for all your help, I’m chuffed to bits.”
A police spokesman thanked everyone who shared the appeal and helped bring Derek safely home.
