FIREFIGHTERS are still tackling the aftermath of a huge blaze which spread across a wood recycling plant.
Crews were called out to contain the fire at Northern Wood Recycling in Bankwood industrial estate, Rossington, yesterday morning.
And today firefighters were still at the site to dampen down the area following the blaze where around 1,000 tonnes of wooden pallets and an excavator were on fire.
An investigation into the incident, which happened at around 3.50am, is not expected to begin until after the weekend, a South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman confirmed.
Drivers were warned about reduced visibility around junction three of the M18 near to where the plant is.
