Police hope a day of action in the Dearne Valley will put the put the brakes on nuisance off-road bikers.
A total of four warnings were issued and one bike was seized during the operation.
Detective Sergeant Darren Taylor said: “The areas off-road bikers are using are there to be enjoyed by walkers, cyclists and horse riders, not for off-road vehicles to cause damage to these scenic areas.
“By riding on prohibited land, which is often both private and public, they are potentially turning them into dangerous areas for members of the public.
“While we do not want to stop people from having fun or enjoying their hobbies, it’s important that we remind people that their behaviour is actually illegal and they could face having their bike seized.
“Any offender who is identified will have their bike seized, whether we stop them while riding it, or if they are identified afterwards.
“We plan to run more of these events in the future.”
