Doncaster Rovers star James Coppinger will be swapping the football pitch for the fairway in the latest of his testimonial functions next week.
The popular footballer is hosting the James Coppinger Golf Day at the town’s Wheatley course on Wednesday (May 6). Shotgun start at 2pm.
One of the highlights of the event promises to be a par three challenge which will see members of competing teams taking on Coppinger in a nearest-to-the-pin competition.
Every team will have the opportunity to be photographed with the attacking midfielder.
The golf will be followed by an evening meal, during which various prizes will be presented, and a question-and-answer session with Coppinger.
Award-winning comedian Gary Marshall will provide the entertainment.
Teams of four cost £350 per team.

Coppinger’s boyhood team Middlesbrough are due at the Keepmoat Stadium this summer to play Rovers in a pre-season testimonial fixture.
