Pigeon Detectives to headline new Doncaster music festival

Indie rock favourites The Pigeon Detectives are to headline a new music festival in Doncaster later this year.

The Leeds band will top the bill at the inaugural Askern Music Festival which will take place in July.

The event will take place on July 15 at Askern Welfare Cricket Club with tickets priced at £20.

The bill will also include "an array of amazing local and talent from around the UK," according to organisers.

West Yorkshire based rockers The Pigeon Detectives formed in 2004 and have previously appeared at the Reading and Leeds Festivals.

Their debut album, Wait For Me, was released in 2007 and since then, the group have recorded a further four studio albums, with their latest offering Broken Glances released earlier this year.

They have also scored five top 20 singles I'm Not Sorry, This Is An Emergency and Romantic Type.
