Thanks to the volunteers of the village group there is an abundance of daffodils adorning the highways, byways and public spaces, just one of the initiatives to help improve the look of the place they live. Fellow member Peter Walker said: “There are a lot of exciting developments in the village this coming year, with the new meadow areas and the RHS ‘It’s your neighbourhood’ incentive.” The gardening club has a couple of events lined up to which residents are welcome to attend. The first is the AGM on Wednesday April 5 at the village hall from 7.30pm. There will be annual reports, election of officers, and plans outlined for the 2017 meadow and public areas. New members are welcome to the club and to the committee. All proceeds made by the club are used to enhance the village. On Wednesday April 12, also at the village hall from 7.30pm, will be the next club meeting on the topic of carnivorous plants. Guest speaker is Peter Walker of wackswickedplants.co.uk. All welcome.
