A community initiative which helps people with autism thorugh arts projects has won a top royal award.
Artistic Spectrum Ltd, based in The ArtSpace in Finkle Court, Thorne, took home a Duke of York’s Community Initiative Award.
The project is led by former Guardian Designer of the Year winner Emma Wilson, who draws on her extensive experience in working with people with autism to encourage clients to develop themselves through artistic expression.
She said: “We’re extremely proud to receive the Duke Of York’s Community Initiative Award.
“Not only does it recognize the amazing work our students achieve, but helps us in our aim to spread the word about autism in our community and beyond.”
The awards will be given out to 34 different groups by HRH The Duke of York at a ceremony to be held in the New Year.
