Hide AdChristie from Cantley said: “Midlife isn’t a crisis, it’s our time to shine.
“All of a sudden you start getting funeral and insurance leaflets through the front door.
“I was made redundant from my corporate job because of my age.”
Christie decided that she would not be weighed down by these negatives and started her social media journey to show others that age does not define your lifestyle.

Hide AdShe took a gap year, started a YouTube channel, wrote books, planted trees in the Galapagos, and started her own business.
All of which she shares with her followers to inspire them to make changes in their own lives.
“I was sick of seeing over 50s groups online that only focused on the past,” she said.
“I want to look forward to new and exciting things.”
Christie wants to eradicate the phrase ‘I’m too old for that’ as she believes there is no age limit to adventure and fun.

Hide AdShe has recently started learning TikTok dances with her granddaughter and wants to keep up to date with new technological trends.
But Christie recognizes that not everyone in the over 50s age range is comfortable with social media.
“If you have younger family members get them to help you or use YouTube to find tutorials.
“The internet is not going away anytime soon and everyone should be educated in how to use it.”
