£4000+ is raised during appeal

ISLE residents have been praised for collecting more than £4000 for this year’s Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Total collections from across Epworth and Belton have so far totalled £4062.65 for the year.

There were lump sum donations from businesses such as Epworth News, who gave £439.28, and many smaller donations gathered from house-to-house collections.

Pupils and staff at Belton Primary School also gave generously and donated a total of £124.47.

Steve Croot, Poppy Appeal Organiser for Epworth and Belton, said: “Could I thank all the people who give up their time and put in maximum effort to collect in all weathers during dark November nights.

“I would also like to thank the businesses that work hard every year to boost the collection by so much.”
