'No staff harmed' during hammer raid at McDonald's drive-thru in Sheffield

Fast food chain McDonald's has confirmed no staff members were injured during a raid by a man armed with a hammer.

A man forced open a window at the drive-thru and stole the till at the outlet on Penistone Road, Hillsborough, at 3am yesterday morning.

"As the drive-thru window was unattended at the time, thankfully none of our staff were affected.

"We will continue support the police in their enquiries.”

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "It is reported that a man forced open a window of the drive-thru and stole the till.

"The man is said to have been carrying a hammer."
