News In Brief: Club name catches up with venue

A GROUP of artists formerly known as the South Cantley Art Club have changed their name to Bawtry Art Club.

South Cantley Art Club has been meeting at Bawtry New Hall every Tuesday morning for years and will continue to do so as Bawtry Art Club. To join the waiting list for membership call Gill Platt on 01302 719 096.

The next painting workshop in October will be with tutor Terry Harrison, whose subject is Polperro in Cornwall.

Charity shop seeks will writing boost

The Barnardo’s shop on Mill Street, Armthorpe, is promoting the charity’s Free Will writing service as part of the UK’s largest joint charity campaign, this week.

During the week, a representative from local law firm QualitySolicitors Jordans will be in store to offer free and impartial advice about making a will and participating in the Barnardo’s Free Will Scheme.

One night of Twice Nightly is back

the Friends of Doncaster Grand Theatre stage the fourth production of their Twice Nightly variety show at Doncaster Civic Theatre with something for everyone on Saturday, September 17, from 7.15pm. Tickets are £10.

Bid to fell pair of evergreen trees

churchwardens at St Mary’s in Tickhill have sought the permission of the Diocese of Sheffield to remove two holly trees from the northern boundary in the old churchyard between the war memorial and the perimeter wall.

Latest jazz band gig at Con Club

the Bob Ludlam Jazzband are performing for Jazz into Doncaster enthusiasts at the Conservative Club on South Parade on Thursday, September 15, from 8.30pm. Admission is £5 on the door.
