A new “nightrider” service is being launched to take early-hours revellers home from Barnsley to Birdwell, Hoyland and Elsecar.

Stagecoach Yorkshire will run the weekend bus on route 66. The last bus currently leaves Barnsley bus station at 11.25pm but, from May 7, there will be services on Friday and Saturday evenings at 12.25 am, followed by 1.25am, 2.25am and 3.25am. Passengers will be charged special fares.

THURNSCOE super-vet Pip Boydell is celebrating a 100 per cent success rate for pioneering surgery to remove irritating hairs from around dogs’ eyes, at the Animal Medical Centre Referral Services pet hospital, at Thurnscoe Business Park.
