A new Chinese takeaway will open tomorrow evening in Epworth (October 1) in a newly refurbished building.
China Palace restaurant has long been a fixture in Queens Street in the town, but owners Vivian and Jack Xue, have sold the eatery and have moved to number nine High Street after a former furniture store on the site was transformed into a newly refurbished takeaway.
Following a five-week refurbishment project on the listed building by development firm WPF Developments, of Sandtoft, China Palace takeaway opens at 5pm.
WPF Development, managing director, Wayne Stead, said the building, which had been empty for the past 18 months, had been overhauled into a modern fast food outlet while adhering to stringent listed building guidelines imposed by North Lincolnshire Council ‘s Conservation Department.
He added: “This is a really nice building. We have had to put back the original windows , but we have put on a new roof and built a 1.5 metre extension.”
Co-owner, Vivian Xue, said: “We urge people to visit our new takeaway. Everything is brand new and we are sure the food will reflect our new surroundings.”
