A NEW mental health male rehabilitation and recovery unit is being officially opened this week.
Doncaster Central MP Rosie Winterton will open the Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) unit, Coral Lodge, on the St Catherine’s site in Doncaster on Friday.
The unit has been refurbished and designed for men from the Doncaster and North Lincolnshire area who are recovering from a major mental illness.
It provides bright and modern accommodation, which includes 16 single en-suite bedrooms, two lounges, a tranquillity room, two kitchens where patients are supported in self-catering, a gym and an e-café with access to emails, the internet and on-line training opportunities.
Former Health Minister and Doncaster Central MP Rosie Winterton said: “The staff at Coral Lodge are dedicated to working with patients to offer the right treatment and, if possible, help them move back into society.
“The facility meets the latest safety, privacy and dignity standards and will support the delivery of high-quality care for patients.”
