Man suffers serious facial injuries in attack outside Doncaster hotel

A man was taken to hospital with serious facial injuries after he was attacked outside a Doncaster hotel.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault, which took place outside the Mercure Hotel, High Street, between 3am and 5am on Bank Holiday Monday.

The attacker was not known to his 37-year-old victim.

“PC Mike Hutchinson, the investigating officer, said: “A lot of people were out on Sunday evening (May 1) into the early hours of Monday morning (May 2) and may have seen what happened.

“We believe the victim, a 37-year-old man, had been talking to a group of people outside of the hotel before the assault.

“I would like to ask these people to contact us and let us know if they have any information about the incident.”
