AN ELDERLY man was the victim of an alleged hit-and-run incident at Conisbrough.
Jess Bradley, 81, of The Oval was taken to hospital following the evening collision on Monday on Church Street.
The car involved in the incident at about 6.45pm was a black Renault Megane, that failed to stop.
The Times was told on Tuesday that Mr Bradley was recovering from head injuries at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.
The victim’s brother, Jim Bradley of Ivanhoe Road, said Jess would probably have been going to his local, the Castle bar, for an evening drink on Monday.
He added: “The police came and told me he’d been injured in an accident outside the Nat West Bank, and had been taken to hospital.
“It was a bit of a shock but we’ve been checking on his condition regularly. We don’t expect him to be in hospital for long”.
Mr Bradley, a former Coal Board employee, has another brother, Albert, who lives on Gomersall Avenue.
