Doncaster pop sensation Louis Tomlinson is aiming to be top of the pops tonight.
The Bessacarr boy-band star and his One Direction band-mates are up for three gongs at tonight’s glittering Brit Awards ceremony where the cream of the world’s music scene will gather for the annual bash.
One Direction have been nominated in three categories and will be hoping to emulate last year’s success when they picked up the award for Best British Single.
They are bidding for victory in the same category again this year with One Way Or Another and will be looking to make it a hat-trick with nods in the Best Video and Best British Group categories too.
However, they face stiff competition for all the awards, taking on the likes of Ellie Goulding and John Newman in the video category.
In the Best British Band category, they will take on Sheffield’s Arctic Monkeys and dance group Rudimental among others while they will also do battle with Goulding, Newman, Rudimental and acts such as Bastille, Calvin Harris, Olly Murs and Passenger in the single category.
The ceremony from London’s 02 Arena will be screened live on ITV from 8pm.
