Late night bus service launched for revellers in Sheffield
A new late night bus service is being launched in Sheffield this weekend aimed at revellers who need to get home after a night out.
The 952 service will run from the University of Sheffield's Students Union on Western Bank in the city centre every Sunday morning at 2.35am and 3.35am and there will be a number of drop off points including Brocco Bank and Endcliffe Vale Road at Endcliffe, Crookes Road in Crookes, Walkley Lane, Walkley and into Hillsborough.
The service is open to members of the public and students from both universities.
Allan Riggall, head of commercial at First, said: "We're pleased to be bringing this new late night bus service to Sheffield University students. We’ve listened to feedback from students and we’re working together with the Students’ Union and Sheffield Bus Partnership to provide a safe, cheap, and easy way for students to get home after a night out.”
Councillor George Lindars-Hammond, a member of the Sheffield City Region Transport Committee, said: "I was pleased to facilitate and support a new relationship between First South Yorkshire and student leaders in Sheffield.
"As a council, we are committed to a safe and enjoyable experience for students in the city and this new service shows what can be achieved when we work in partnership for better bus services.”
Single tickets will cost just £1 and Student Week, 4Week and Term tickets will also be valid on the service.
