Jubilee garden plan for Misterton

MISTERTON Parish Council plans to redevelop the grassed area at Co-op corner into a commemorative garden to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

The garden, located opposite the old school, will incorporate seats and a map if the village. It will also be laid out with shrubs.

Councillors have approved a budget of up to £15,000 and it is hoped that some grant funding may be obtained.

Meanwhile Misterton residents will be asked about affordable housing needs with surveys to be sent to all households during the spring.

Parish councillors are working with Midlands Rural Housing on the survey and if a need is identified, sites can be found and homes would be built by housing associations.
