MORE than half of the workforce at a Dearne food supplier will lose their jobs after the company slipped into administration.
A total of 100 workers out of 170 are to be made redundant at DBC Foodservice Limited, based at Manvers.
The announcement was made on Thursday by the company’s administrators, Baker Tilly Restructuring and Recovery LLP.
The firm employs 982 people at locations across the UK. A total of 287 workers nationally are to be made redundant.
Russell Cash, of Baker Tilly, said: “DBC is a very well established business which has enjoyed a great reputation over a prolonged period.
“It is obviously very disappointing to see the company enter into administration. We are in discussions with a number of interested parties, some of which are at an advanced stage.
“We are hopeful that we will be able to secure a future for certain areas of the business.”
