• A BURNS Night celebration will help to raise funds towards this year’s Belton Barrows Race.

The Scottish fundraiser is on January 26 at the Wheatsheaf Inn, Westgate Road, and includes a neeps and tatties supper and Scottish dancing. Tartan is optional and tickets cost £3.50.

• PLANNING applications for the Crowle area include the demolition of eight battery garages, to replace them with eight new pre-cast concrete garages, off Fieldside, Crowle. And outline planning permission is sought to erect a house in connection with an agricultural business at New Farm, Carr Lane.

• IDEAS to keep on top of grass cutting on the main approaches to Epworth are being considered by the town council’s environment committee.

The council has already agreed a tree-planting scheme at these areas. The grass used to be cut by volunteers, but that was no longer happening, a meeting heard.
