Horses spotted 'roaming freely' on street near Sheffield

Emergency services were called out overnight after horses were spotted 'roaming freely' on a street near Sheffield.

Derbyshire Police officers and firefighters from Staveley were called out to the scene in Bolehill Lane, Eckington, at 3.40am.

A fire brigade spokesperson said two horses had gotten free from a field and were "found roaming freely on the roadway."

Officers managed to return the horses safely to the field.
