Hometown panto joy just days after leaving stage school

A FORMER Miss Doncaster has landed a hometown acting job – her first role since finishing at a top stage school.

Annabel Jones will play Sleeping Beauty in the Doncaster Civic Theatre pantomime at Christmas.

Annabel, aged 22, from Rossington, finished at the famous Italia Conte stage school in London this month.

She played Dick Whittington in panto at the Civic two years ago, and will start rehearsals in November.

An agent in London has signed her up and the actress is hoping for more work now she has finished her course.

“I’m really pleased my first job since finishing stage school is a home town show,” said Annabel.

“The really great thing about it is I get to be home for Christmas.

“I had done auditions for other pantomimes as well, so this is ideal.

“I’m looking forward to working with Steve Huison, who played Eddie Windass in Coronation Street, and asking him all about Corrie!

“The Prince was in Scooch in the Eurovision Song Contest, so I can’t wait to talk to him too.”
