Maintenance work is set to start on the roof of one of the borough’s most historic buildings.
Doncaster Council will invest £370,000 to re-roof significant parts of Cusworth Hall. Work on the Grade I listed building will start in early January 2015 and expected to last for around three months. The work will be carried out by a specialist heritage contractor. Cusworth Hall will remain open to visitors and for events such as weddings while work on the new roof takes place. Coun Joe Blackham, Cabinet Member for Assets and Trading Services, said: “This is essential maintenance work and it is right that we make this investment to safeguard Doncaster’s heritage.”
