Green team's clean sweep of Doncaster
Dozens of council staff swept into Edlington in a continued effort to keep the area clean as the '˜This is My Doncaster '“ Keep it clean' campaign continues to sweep through the borough.
Sleeves were rolled up as work to pick up litter, remove graffiti, clear away unsightly debris and a host of other jobs were carried out to improve the cleanliness of the area as tidying commenced in time for Christmas.

The District Council warns that offenders breaking the law can be issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice of up to £150.
Cabinet Member for Communities, Voluntary Sector and the Environment, Councillor Chris McGuinness, said: 'We want all of our local residents to be proud of where they live and we want to encourage positive behaviours of their friends and families.
'We are working towards actively encouraging people of the area to volunteer as a way of keeping active and we will support them as much as we can.'

'It is important for us to get the message across to people that we as a council will not tolerate littering and other offences and are prepared to impose penalties.'
In addition to this state-of-the-art machinery to help keep walkways and open spaces clean and tidy were also used during the '˜This is My Doncaster '“ Keep it clean' campaign, while hundreds of tree saplings were also planted during the green clean-up by willing volunteers in the open space near Broomhouse Lane.
In addition to the work that was carried out in Edlington, hardworking council staff and volunteers have already been putting in the spade work in other areas including Mexborough, Stainforth and Barnby Dun for the clean-up '˜This is My Doncaster '“ Keep it clean' campaign.
