Also, over 70% of students achieved 5 or more A*-C grades, a 4% improvement on the previous year.

Vice principal Ben Creaser said: “These results show that performance in our core and option subjects are great, enabling our students to progress onto their chosen post-16 courses and apprenticeships.

“One of our key improvement priorities for the year was to increase the proportion of students achieving the very highest grades. We were therefore delighted to see that the proportion of students achieving 3 or more A* or A grades has trebled since 2014, with over 1/3 of students managing this magnificent achievement.

“Our top performing student, Peter Castledine, achieved a clean sweep of top grades with 5 A*s and 6 A grades. Peter was not alone as a high achiever however, hot on his heels were 19 other students whom all secured 5 or more A* or A grades this year.

A”lthough we are justifiably very proud of the achievement of our Year 11 students this year, we have even higher aspirations for our new set of Year 11s and look forwards to reporting an even better set of results in 2016.”
