CHARITIES were offered advice on how to boost their income through grant funding.
More than 20 good causes from Doncaster and the region came together for the informative forum.
The event was organised by members of the specialist Charity Group at hlw Keeble Hawson, one of the region’s biggest legal practices with offices in Doncaster, Sheffield and Leeds.
Michele Todd, partner in hlw Keeble Hawson Private Client and a founder member of the Charity Group, said: “We received excellent feedback from attendees who said that the information they had gained would make a real difference to the success of their groups.
“Grant funding can be vital to help charities achieve their aims, and we wanted to make sure that our locally based groups had the best possible chance of succeeding with their applications.”
Speakers at the event included Peter Pantelli from UCS Consultants of Ilkley, who has vast experience in helping charities with grant applications, and Neil Chapman from Edale Mountain Rescue, which recently won funding from the Sheffield Town Trust.
A legal update was also given by Rosemary Downs, partner in the corporate and business services team.
The forum was held at hlw Keeble Hawson’s offices in Prince’s Street, Doncaster, and is one of two free Charity Forums hosted by the company each year.
