Potential football stars of the future from India have been training at Sheffield’s sports facilities during a visit to the city.

Members of Sheffield United’s Jamshedpur-based Tata Football Academy made a three-week overseas visit to Sheffield to train.

They also visited Ponds Forge International Sports Centre and the training facilities at the English Institute of Sport to aid their recovery between games.”

Lee Walshaw, head of international coaching at Sheffield United, said: “I’d like to thank everyone at Ponds Forge who allowed us to use the venue’s fantastic facilities.

“The team had recovery and stretching sessions in the pool following two mid-week games as well as using the sauna and steam room, and they were very impressed.”
