Food giant Iceland is set to create 30 new jobs with the opening of a new Doncaster superstore.

The 8,500 square foot Food Warehouse store will open at Centurion Retail Park, Bentley next week and will bring 30 new full and part-time jobs to the town.

It is one of only nine of its kind in the country.

The Food Warehouse is more than double the size of a normal Iceland store and has a completely different look and feel.

In addition to the full Iceland range of frozen, chilled and grocery items, The Food Warehouse will stock an extended range of luxury frozen food including speciality fish and meats such as sea bass, kangaroo, ostrich and buffalo as well as premium ready meals, keenly-priced fine wines, fresh produce, grocery items and special home ware items.

The store’s capacity allows The Food Warehouse to stock bulk goods at great value prices – from pasta and baby products to pet food and rice - and there is no membership required.

Doors open on September 29 at Centurion Retail Park and the first 100 customers in line will receive a Bluetooth Speaker and a chance to win one of five freezers.

Before the launch takes place, 30 local people will earn themselves a sneak preview of The Food Warehouse if they land one of the new jobs on offer. To apply, simply visit Iceland’s careers website at

Doncaster follows on from the successful opening of Iceland Food Warehouse’s in Accrington, Banbury Cross, Stoke-on-Trent, Cannock, Rochdale, Pontypridd, Wrexham and Old Kent Road in London and further new stores are planned over the next few years.

Doncaster’s new Food Warehouse store manager Mick Pettingale said: “We are delighted to be opening in Doncaster and boosting the local economy by creating 30 new jobs for people in the area. Thanks to the Power of Frozen, Iceland has always been able to innovate with outstanding quality food, a wider range of choice from all over the world and really excellent value. The Food Warehouse gives us the chance to showcase this further, in bigger stores with ample car parking and plenty of space to showcase some amazing new products. We will introduce exciting and luxury lines which tempt shoppers and caterers who may not have tried Iceland before. I’m excited to welcome our first customers and look forward to recruiting some of the best talent in town.”
