Firefighters save schoolgirl stuck up tree near Doncaster

There is a well worn phrase about firefighters saving cats stuck up a tree - and a crew yesterday had to put these unusual set of rescue skills into action.

For Humberside firefighters had to save a 12-year-old schoolgirl who had become stuck up a tree in Belton Road, Epworth, at 3.30pm.

A fire service spokesperson said crews used a short ladder to ensure the child was "assisted down."
