Firefighters praised for preventing spread of Doncaster garage blaze

Firefighters have been praised for preventing a garage fire spreading to a nearby bungalow.

Officers spent just over an hour tackling the blaze in Cantley on Thursday night.

Crews from Doncaster station were called out to Warning Tongue Lane at 10.40pm.

They called for back-up from Edlington and Adwick stations at 10.55pm.

Officers extinguished the fire before it spread to a house which was 15 metres away.

Nobody was injured and the cause of the fire is not yet known.

Fire crews left the scene at 11.54pm.
