Everly Pregnant Brothers to perform in Tramlines showcase

They will be supported by Velocity Brown and The Hotrods and The Stars Band to promote Tramlines - the UK’s largest inner-city festival, which will unveil its newly-expanded Devonshire Green stage of Friday.

The Devonshire Green stage has an increased capacity for 2016 and can now hold up to 7,500 revellers.

Sheffield favourites, The Everly Pregnant Brothers, were conceived during a drinking session involving artist Pete McKee and ukulele player Richard Bailey.

Velocity Brown and the Hotrods have played at Glastonbury and Shambala.

Completing the bill on Friday night are The Stars Band, a group created at Under The Stars - a music project for people with a range of hidden disabilities.

Tramlines organisers have also today announced those chose to perform at the festival through the Apply To Play scheme.

Thousands of acts applied to play at the festival, and this year's applicants have been whittled down by local music industry partners and BBC presenters from across the country, with Sheffield artists including Ginger Tom, Bang Bang Romeo, Emma Crowder, King Capisce, Caroline Francess and North Adolescence among those selected to play.

Barnsley indie-rock outfit Aztec Doll, Manchester afro-beat 11-piece Agbeko and Leeds experimental multi-instrumentalist Juffage will appear across a range of venues and stages including the Main Stage and Devonshire Green.

This year's Tramlines festival is expected to attract around 100,000 music-lovers, with Dizzee Rascal, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Jurassic 5, Kelis, George Clinton Parliament Funkadelic, The Dandy Warhols, The Mystery Jets, Gaz Coombes, Dawn Penn, Crazy P Soundsystem, Goldie, Craig Charles, Field Music, Hinds, Little Simz, The Enemy, Norman Jay, Toddla T, Young Fathers, My Nu Leng and David Rodigan already announced in the line-up.

A weekend ticket costs £42 plus a booking fee, covering all the stages all day.

For club access only, a weekend pass costs £20 plus a booking fee.

To stay for the official closing parties on Sunday night, an extra charge of £5 applies.
