ISLE MP Andrew Percy has welcomed statistics showing a record number of people in his Brigg and Goole constituency started apprenticeship in 2011-12.
In the last financial year, 950 people started an apprenticeship in the area.
Of those, there were 350 people starting on the schemes in the three months from August to October 2012.
Mr Percy said: “We will only succeed as a country when everyone is given the chance to reach their full potential.
“These record levels of apprenticeships are fantastic news for our country, for region, and most of all for the people whose lives are being transformed by the opportunities they offer.”
