A former rugby league star visited students at a Dearne secondary school to give them an inspirational pep talk ahead of preparations for their exams.
Paul Broadbent, 46, represented Great Britain and England during a successful club career in which he played for teams including the Sheffield Eagles, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and York City Knights.
He visited Swinton Community School on Friday, January 30, to speak to give advice to Year 11 physical education students who are starting revision for their GCSE exams in the summer.
He spent the whole day leading assemblies on topics covering self-belief, confidence and motivation.
The rugby star also hosted workshops with groups of pupils aimed at encouraging team building, leadership skills and fitness sessions.
PE teacher Rosie Aspinall said: “The day was extremely useful and the students had lots of fun.”
