Extra school places to be created in Doncaster

A Doncaster primary school is to be expanded to meet growing demand for school places in the community

An additional reception class being created at Hayfield Lane Primary School to provide the additional school places needed for local children.

The expansion at Hayfield Lane comes in addition to the new capacity that is already being created in the Balby area from September, with an additional 630 primary school places.

This will be delivered by substantial expansion at Hexthorpe Primary School and the opening of a new primary school, Carr Lodge Academy, on the Woodfield Plantation.

Nuala Fennelly, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said “We are pleased to be able to support these schools, and continue to invest in our schools, local communities and our children’s futures. We are grateful for the support of the Governing Bodies, which will allow children to attend a school in their local area”.
