GRADUATES from a former Doncaster teaching training college have given an A* to their 40th anniversary reunion.
Around a dozen men and women returned to the old Doncaster College of Education’s Teacher Training Centre in High Melton to mark the day they started their educational careers as fresh-faced students in 1971.
The group, who trained as PE teachers, watched Doncaster Knights rugby union club’s win over Plymouth on Saturday before having a celebratory meal at The Stables restaurant which now stands on part of the Doncaster College-owned site.
Tony Boyer, head of business at Hungerhill School in Edenthorpe, and Glyn Davies, headteacher of Pennine View School in Conisbrough, were two of the returning graduates.
Mr Boyer, who helped organise the event, said: “It was an odd feeling returning to the site. But it brought back a lot of memories and it was good to reminisce about the place.”
