Driver detained in East Butterwick after burglary
A man has been arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary and failing to stop, following a police pursuit in Scunthorpe in the early hours of this morning (Thursday July 16).
The arrest came after officers on patrol spotted a white Transit van parked at the entrance with its rear doors open at Builders’ Merchant Co Ltd, on Scotter Road, at around 3.10am.
As the patrol approached, the vehicle was driven away and officers pursued.

Hide AdThe van left the road near High Street, East Butterwick, where the driver was detained and arrested.
A 50 year-old local man remains in custody, pending further enquiries.
