Rovers have completed loan signing of striker Jonson Clarke-Harris from local rivals Rotherham United.

The 20-year-old has joined on a youth loan until the end of the season, including the play-offs, but the terms of which will allow the Millers to recall him after an initial 28 days.

He signed for the Millers in August with Steve Evans paying a club record fee to Oldham for his services.

Described as one for the future, Clarke-Harris has made 15 appearances for Rotherham this season, nine of which coming from the bench.

He has netted three goals, including a memorable winner against Leeds just two minutes after coming off the bench.

Clarke-Harris joined MK Dons on a month’s loan in January, making five appearances but failing to find the net.

He scored against Rovers at the Keepmoat this season while still with Oldham in August.

The terms of a youth loan allow the player to train and feature in development squad matches for their parent club, while still remaining on loan.

Millers boss Steve Evans told the club’s official website: “Jono is a young man who we believe has a big future with the Milers but at the same time he has such a burning desire to play first team football and this short term move to Doncaster Rovers, a club I wholly respect, should allow that to happen.

“Since coming back from his previous loan move the lad has spoken to me on a number of occasions about having a desire to be playing regularly on a Saturday afternoon and I can do nothing but respect that.

“He will add power, pace, strength and hopefully goals to a Rovers team that have enjoyed a good season led by my good friend Paul Dickov.

“I have allowed the loan deal to run to a date that would include the end of season play-offs in the event that Doncaster Rovers are successful in reaching them, however the supporters should know that I have insisted that there will be a recall notice inserted into the agreement after the initial 28 day period.

“In summary the player can be recalled at a minutes’ notice after the 28 day notice.”

The Millers have also allowed full back Mat Sadler to join Oldham Athletic on loan.
