IAN LAWLOR 8

Had little to do in the opening period but vital saves early in second half ensured a frustrating afternoon for Rovers did not end in defeat.

MATTY BLAIR 6

Struggled to get forward as much as in recent games but defended well at full-back and ensured little came down the right.

MATHIEU BAUDRY 6

Barring one stunning ball in the first half, he was less effective in possession than normal but defended well.

ANDY BUTLER 6

Another solid performance, helping to keep quiet James Collins and marshalling the defence well.

CRAIG ALCOCK 6

Had plenty to do against Boldewijn but stood up well to the pacy winger and prevented anything too dangerous. Continues to long strong at left-back.

NIALL MASON 7

Shielded the defence well as Crawley looked to make an impression in the second half. Made a vital block in second half.

CONOR GRANT 6

Best work came in a more central position than on the right as Rovers showcased patient build-up play in the first half. Had difficulty making an impact in the second half, however.

TOMMY ROWE 6

Saw less of the ball than in recent games and struggled to get in behind the Crawley defence on the left.

JAMES COPPINGER 7

Drove Rovers on well in the first half as they saw plenty of the ball in advanced areas and arguably should have scored. Like others, he struggled to threaten after the break.

JOHN MARQUIS 7

Penalty miss aside, he was a constant thorn in Crawley’s side, particularly in the first half as he led the high press, setting the tone for the team.

ALFIE MAY 7

Like Marquis, May pressed superbly during the dominant first half. Arguably should have had a goal which was ruled offside and probably should have scored from the rebounded penalty.

SUBS USED:

ANDY WILLIAMS 6

Was unlucky with a couple of back-post bullet headers which were well blocked. Struggled to find space in box otherwise and still looks desperately in need of a goal.

GARY MCSHEFFREY 6

A fine late cameo from the veteran in place of Coppinger. He showed his quality on the ball and excellent vision for a pass as he continues his injury comeback.

SUBS NOT USED: Ross Etheridge, Cedric Evina, Harry Middleton, Alfie Beestin, Will Longbottom.
