The game was typical end of season fare, and that's being polite.

But the point suited Albion as they celebrated reaching the second tier of English football for the first time in their history.

Rovers ended the game with nine men after making three substitutions and then seeing Aaron Taylor-Sinclair and Riccardo Calder go off injured.

Andy Williams saw a decent claim for a penalty turned down in the second half after he appeared to be brought down by Phil Edwards.

Youngster Will Longbottom made his first senior appearance for Doncaster, but Cedric Evina and James Coppinger were missing due to injuries.

The absence of Thorsten Stuckmann, Gary MacKenzie and Cameron Stewart seemed to be telling, as boss Darren Ferguson now sets about an overhaul of the playing squad following Rovers' dismal drop through the League One trapdoor.
