Staff from a Doncaster based recruitment consultancy put their best feet forward to help charity.
For a team of runners from RH Recruiting took part in their first ever half marathon to help make a significant donation to Firelfy, the firm’s chosen charity for 2015.
The team powered their way around the Yorkshire Half Marathon course which took in the sights of Sheffield from its start at the Town Hall out to the edge of the Peak District.
Ian Horsman, director of RH Recruiting said: “Firefly is a great Doncaster charity which supports cancer patients in the borough by providing transport to and from hospitals across the county,“
“We felt it was a particularly pertinent charity to support – one that we or our families and friends may need to call upon at some point and one that plays a vital part in our community. With this in mind some of the team decided to tackle their first ever 13 mile run.”
Ian and consultants Liam Poyner, Jessica Yorke and Kristie Husler began their training earlier in the year and all completed the course raising a total of £1021.
“It’s great to be able to do a personal challenge that supports this fantastic charity,” said Ian. “We’re already planning more challenges and events during the year and hope to raise a significant amount for Firefly which helps the charity continue to support the people of Doncaster.”
Ian concluded: “Our special thanks go to Westfield Health who kindly matched the money raised with a contribution of £500”.
RH Recruiting has skilled consultants in a variety of market sectors including finance and accounts, administrative, HR, sales and marketing, logistics, construction, manufacturing and engineering, information technology, automotive and also temporary staff.
The team have already pledged their support to next year’s event which takes place on April 10.
