Doncaster model and TV star aiming to win worldwide modelling vote

A Doncaster model and TV star is calling on the public to help her win a worldwide modelling contest.

Elena Raouna, 24, is seeking votes in the Model Vote contest - with a cash prize and a one year modelling contract up for grabs.

Vote for Elena HEREGreek-Cypriot beauty queen Elena, who comes from Norton, has already received nearly 1,500 votes in the online contest which has attracted entries from around the globe.

To be in with a chance of winning the prize, she needs to be among the top 20 models who have received the most votes by the end of the month.

The top 20 will then enter a final round which lasts 48 hours and whoever receives the most votes in this round will win the cash prize. She is currently ranked tenth in the contest.

Elena appeared on ITV dating show Take Me Out earlier this year and she has become one of Doncaster's best known faces after rising to fame after winning Miss British Beauty Curve, a national contest for plus size models a few years ago.

The beauty queen, who works at Harry's - her parents fish and chip eatery in Dunsville - was dubbed Miss Fish and Hips after scooping the title and since her victory, the former Campsmount School pupil has undertaken a series of modelling shoots, signed up for online clothes retailer ASOS and has also appeared on ITV quiz show Catchphrase and Channel 4 show Coach Trip.

She also had a well publicised Twitter spat with business mogul Lord Sugar who faced criticism after be branded her 'fatty' in a tweet.

Last week, she was spotted clubbing with Alex Reid, the former husband of glamour star Katie Price at a club in the West Midlands.
