Staff at the Frenchgate Centre have been putting on a range of activities today, proving the centre ‘nose’ how to raise as much money as possible for Comic Relief.
All staff including security, management, customer service and the cleaning team have been dressed in red all day, either as a small token, such as a tie, or completely from head to toe.
Even Betsie the Beetle, the VW car located on the upper mall, has been dressed for the occasion, with a special red nose.
Face painting and balloon making workshops have also been on offer in exchange for a donation to Red Nose Day, while Sainsbury’s staff are selling Comic Relief merchandise alongside Betsie the Beetle.
Comic Relief was launched in 1988 and, every two years, encourages people to get together and ‘do something funny for money’ at home, school and work. Money raised by Red Nose Day helps people living tough lives across the UK and Africa.
