Doncaster Free Press offices closed again after fresh security alert

The offices of the Doncaster Free Press are closed again this morning for the second time in less than a month following a fresh security problem.

Journalists and advertising staff at the newspaper are currently locked out of their office after the front door to the premises became jammed.

The office on the corner of Printing Office Street and Cleveland Street was closed for more than three hours last month when police were called in following signs of what was thought to be an attempted break in.

Staff turning up for work this morning discovered the front door wedged firmly shut - leaving workers stranded outside once again.

Maintenance workers have been called to the offices, which the Free Press moved into just over two years ago.

During the disruption, staff will not be able to answer telephone calls, emails or public callers to the office. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Journalists and advertising staff are working remotely while a locksmith is called to carry out repairs to the door.
