Doncaster blues festival gets under way

Hundreds of music lovers have turned out for the Doncaster Blues Festival which got underway this afternoon and is due to be headlined by terminally ill rocker Wilko Johnson.

Singer-songwriter and guitarist Wilko – best known for his work with 1970s pub rock and rhythm and blues band Dr Feelgood is set to perform at around 8.30pm.

The one day festival is being held at The Dome, and other acts on the bill include the Stevie Nimmo Trio, Connie Lush and Blues Shouter and Doncaster band, Rita Payne.
